The Bruno Accordion Company was founded in 1997 by Thomas Bruno upon his graduation from Penn State University with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Bruno began his accordion repair apprenticing at the age of 12 under Mario Mosti, his teacher and mentor. Mr. Mosti trained Thomas in all of the many facets of accordion repair and restoration. Thomas enjoyed such a warm rapport with Mr. Mosti, Mr. Bruno took over Mr. Mosti’s accordion repair business upon his retirement in 1997.
The Bruno Accordion Company is located in the shop that was previously owned by his grandfather, Thomas Bruno Sr. Mr. Bruno’s grandfather was a wood patternmaker, and owned and operated The Bruno Pattern Company. Mr. Thomas Bruno Sr. made many patterns for the war effort during WWII. In fact some of the patterns for the atomic bomb were actually built by Thomas Bruno Sr.
All of the vintage woodworking equipment that Thomas Bruno inherited from his grandfather is in perfect working order and is well-suited to the rebuilding / repair of the many intricate parts that comprise an accordion.
